Barcode Scanner — frequently asked questions
Almost always focus or angle. A 1D barcode needs the bars sharp and roughly level — a slight tilt is fine, but a steep angle or motion blur is not. Crop the photo closer so the barcode fills most of the frame, and avoid glare from packaging film.
