Rotate Image — frequently asked questions
Phones often store a photo upright and add an EXIF 'orientation' flag telling viewers to turn it. Apps that ignore the flag show it sideways. Rotating here bakes the correct orientation into the pixels and removes the flag, so it looks right everywhere.
